“My name is Mike, and I’m a preservation technician at Bath Iron Works. I was born in Jamaica. Oh my God, just, you know, the opportunity to be able to be part of something great for the United States, just to be a part of a team, building these warships, and knowing that, you know, I have a stamp, I have a name, on this ship that’s to protect our country. Nothing really is hard, because you know there is a saying that if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. So I can’t really say that there is anything hard. Oh my God I cried. I cried because it (the Zumwalt) is the first ship I started on when I began at Bath Iron Works, and to see it sail down the river, tears came to my eyes.”
