“I’m Nicholas Tenney, I’m a marine electrician at Bath Iron Works. Right now I’m working in the missile silos. It’s...challenging. The steel is thicker so the rooms are either hotter than normal on the ship, or colder than normal, depending on the weather outside. As an electrician I’m dealing with high voltage so if I do a wrong move I could be cooked. It’s just impressive to see something they said couldn’t be built, be built and go down the river. It (the loss of the Coast Guard Cutter bid) makes me worry about some of the new brothers and sisters we have, on their jobs. I’m around these people more than I am my own family. So we grow very close bonds.”
